(Rome) I knew there would be a great deal of email to answer when I got back to my office after three weeks in Brazil, and I anticipated lots of tasks on the To Do list. The sudden change of seasons, however, took me by surprise. I left Rome in early August in full summer to get to Rio de Janeiro in Brazil’s winter. I did not pack a light sweater, but I should have. Now back in Rome again I was immediately struck by all the brown leaves on the road when I went for a regular bicycle ride on Sunday morning. No wonder my head is spinning.
