The Forum's new format

This thematic consultation is part of the new methodology introduced into the WSF process by the International Council (the open "governing body" of the WSF process): it marks an important step in the direction of a better coordination of the movements and groups at the Forum and of their proposed alternatives for "another world". In order to promote networking and at the same time to avoid overlap of activities, 11 facilitating groups (one for each thematic area) have been established. Based on an overview of registered seminars on similar or complementary topics these groups suggested that various organisations coordinate among themselves prior to the forum (the so-called “agglutination process”). The non-centralised format is still imperative and the proposed aggregation of events is voluntary; any organisation can still present its views and experiences through self-organised seminars and workshops.
